Some people say to themselves, junk food is not that bad. If you want to believe this than good luck. Remember how important your beliefs are and especially the ones that are faulty that you still believe. It goes back to what I said earlier. If you want to build a slim, toned and healthy body you need the right building blocks. Those building blocks are not found in junk food of any kind. I do not care how fat free or enriched it is, how many added vitamins and minerals there are, how low carb or “healthy” the manufactures try to make you believe it is. Junk food is junk.
The old expression ‘you are what you eat’ is so true. If you believe the junk food is not that bad for you I really do take pity on you. Because no matter how much other stuff you do from this book, you will become less healthy, more overweight and have more and more aches, pains, symptoms and diseases. The bottom line is really that Junk food is Junk.
All you have to do is look at the history of man. Everything man has ever made or tried to improve beyond how nature created it, always turns out to be worse for you than the original product nature created. And if there is something that has not been proven to be worse for you than the product in nature, give it time. If you do not learn from history you are doomed to repeat it.
It is nice, wanting to believe that some day we will be able to perfect a new biotech food that gives us everything we need, lasts forever, is convenient and even comes in our favorite flavor.
That day has already come and it is called natural food. Eating Healthy is as simple as eating Fresh and Pure.

You may have never heard of nutmeg oil, other than for use in baked goods and flavorings. Yet nutmeg oil is used as a natural method of treating pain. There are different kinds of nutmeg oils available on the market, and the prices of each vary greatly. If you are looking to purchase it to treat pain, the following information will help you understand the uses of this oil to treat pain and illness.
Nutmeg oil comes from a bushy tree that grows to be about fifty feet tall. It is a tropical evergreen tree, with smooth, grayish brown bark and greenish branches. The nutmeg apple is similar to a peach, and contains the nut that can produce the oil.
Nutmeg oil is used to relax muscles and has a sedative capability. It is often used to help remove gas from the digestive track, and is used for a variety of stomach ailments. It is also helpful for people with recurring nervous conditions, kidney disorders, and it aids in the prevention of vomiting and nausea. It treats abdominal pain, diarrhea, and even bad breath.
Nutmeg oil is made by separating the different parts of the nutmeg apple. The nut is removed and slowly dried, where it is sometimes put into capsules or made into an essential oil. The skin from the nuts or the red membrane is removed to make Mace.
A standard dosage of Nutmeg oil is three to five drops taken once daily. This dosage can be added to a drink or a tablespoon of honey for ingestion. In the practice of Chinese medicine, nutmeg oil can be taken as an infusion, and it is recommended that you take nutmeg oil on an empty stomach. There are no known side effects to this dosage of nutmeg, but excessively large doses can cause confusion, headaches and possibly seizures. Pregnant women should not use nutmeg as it may cause a miscarriage.
The best quality of nutmeg oil comes from nutmeg that has been dipped in Lime milk, as that keeps the nutmeg insect free and helps seal in the aromatic qualities.

The antioxidant vitamins found in fruits, vegetables, teas and supplements are proving to be powerful agents in the fight against disease causing free radicals.
The original concept was to take recommended daily allowance (RDA) of vitamins to a level that would prevent acute deficiency diseases like the Sailor’s disease scurvy. These are the standards by which RDA’s were created.
However, in recent years, research has shown that Vitamins taken in higher doses can prevent sever chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease. A debate still rages, but there is a plethora of research being done on Vitamin A, C, E, the antioxidant vitamins.
A National Institute of Health clinical trial involving people at high risk of developing advanced stages of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), showed that patients’ risk decreased by 25 percent when treated with high doses of antioxidant vitamins and zinc.
Another study at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta showed that taking Vitamin E along with multivitamins reduced risk from stroke and heart illness. Among patients who took the combination, mortality risk decreased by 15 percent for these two diseases.
This September, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) concluded a study investigating the relationship between Vitamin C and cancer, suggesting that Vitamin C may fight cancer. They found, in a laboratory setting, that high doses of Vitamin C injected directly into the bloodstream killed cancer cells.
Though the current RDA for Vitamin C is stuck at 60 mg, many researchers suggest that raising the RDA to between 100 and 200 mg would be a great way for people to get the antioxidants that they need to maintain overall well being.
Be careful when purchasing vitamins and supplements though. Research has shown that whole food vitamins, or vitamins with their co-factors, are much more effective than isolated nutrients. Nutrition is a complex process of thousands of chemical reactions within our bodies. Vitamins are always better in their natural state - in the foods we eat. Supplements should never be used in place of a poor diet.
The smart choice is to look for whole food vitamins to supplement an already good diet for the times you can’t get everything you need at meal time.

Now for all of you who have a sweet tooth, and even for those of you who don’t think you have a sweet tooth, let’s explore and expose the dangers of our fourth “deadly white:” sugar, which happens to be one of America’s very favorite foods.
We’ve already discussed the first three “deadly whites:” white flour, white rice, and white salt.
Lots of foods are loaded with sugar.
Sometimes the sugar is obvious in some foods. We all know that candy, cakes, cookies, pastries, pies, jam, ice cream, desserts, cereals, soda, and drinks contain sugar.
However, sometimes the sugar is hidden in many foods. Sugar can be found in soups, canned fruits and vegetables, bread, peanut butter, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings, spaghetti sauce, pickles, and even baby foods.
Americans eat lots of sugar. As a matter of fact, statistics report that the average American eats from 130 to 150 pounds of sugar every year which translates into 30 to 50 teaspoons of sugar a day. A can of pop alone has 10 teaspoons of sugar so it wouldn’t take much more sugar to add up to 30 to 50 teaspoons a day.
So what is so wrong about eating sugar?
Sugar is detrimental to health and fitness. It causes many problems in the body, some of which are:
Sugar causes the loss of tissue elasticity and tissue functioning causing premature aging.
Sugar interferes with the body’s ability to effectively process fat and cholesterol, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart disease, and strokes.
Sugar, along with white flour, causes wear and tear, and ultimately the malfunction of the pancreas.
Because white sugar and white flour are absorbed too quickly into the blood stream, the pancreas is forced to send large quantities of insulin into the blood to balance the large quantities of sugar. When this is done over and over, day in and day out over a lifetime, the pancreas gets worn out.
The result: hypoglycemia and diabetes, along with fatigue, headaches, irritability, mood swings, nervousness, anxiety, and even mental disorders.
Sugar is highly correlated with the growth of cancer cells. Cancer, such as cancers of the breast, ovaries, intestines, prostate, and rectum, is thought to thrive on sugar.
Sugar causes the body to become over-acid. When the body is over-acid, it must pull calcium from the bones to neutralize the acidity. Along with animal products and salt, sugar is another contributor to osteoporosis. Is there any wonder why there is so much osteoporosis in the United States?
Ultimately, excess sugar is stored in the liver and when the liver is filled to capacity, the sugar returns to the blood in the form of fat. The fat is stored in those places we don’t want it storednamely our butts, thighs, stomachs, and breasts. So of course, sugar is a huge cause of weight gain and obesity, which is 30 pounds overweight.
White sugar is correlated with a compromised immune system, varicose veins, gallstones, kidney damage, acid stomach, colitis, asthma, migraine headaches, eczema, cataracts, emphysema, and multiple sclerosis.
White sugar is high in calories, which could ultimately be turned into fat, and these calories are completely empty of any nutrition whatsoever. And, even worse than empty calories, is the fact that sugar actually leeches vitamins and minerals out of your body.
Carefully consider what you are putting into your body. Read the labels and look for sugar under different names: dextrose, maltose, fructose, glucose, lactose, corn syrup, fruit juice concentrate, malt, syrup, and “no sugar added” all mean that sugar is in this product.
If health, fitness, weight loss, well-functioning organs, high energy, and a youthful body are important to you, then it’s time to think about which foods you are putting in your body that promote these priorities and which foods deplete you, choice by choice, of your health and your very life.
Part I: White Flour and White Rice
Part II: White Salt
Part IV: “White” Processed Oils

Flaxseeds may be the smallest seeds you will find in any health food store, but there is nothing little about their enormous contribution to our overall health. Discovered in 5,000 BC, these little brown seeds were worshiped for their magical properties, such as healing the intestines, skin conditions, improving energy, and overall health.
Here are ten great reasons to eat flaxseeds every day:
1) Packed with minerals
Minerals not only build your bones, but give you energy. Flaxseeds contain 7 times more potassium than a banana and more calcium than a cup of skim milk! Consuming about a cup of flaxseeds per day will provide you with 831mg of Potassium, 236mg of Calcium, 431mg of Magnesium, and 112mcg of folic acid.
2) Help prevent cancer
Flaxseeds are rich in lignans, which have been researched and documented to have anti-cancer properties, especially in hormone-sensitive cancers such as breast, prostate, and endometrium. Lignans help excrete dangerous estrogens, which cause breast cancer, and they also help prevent estrogen-caused tumor growth. In addition, lignans prevent testosterone binding, which in turn helps prevent prostate cancer. The active ingredient in lignans, SDG, inhibits new tumor growth and development as well as the growth of established tumors. A cup of flaxseeds contains 53 mg of lignans, way more than fruits and veggies which contain about 0.001 mg.
3) Improve immune system strength
From HIV to the common cold, Omega 3s and lignans within flaxseeds help strengthen the immune cells. Research shows that this type of immune modulation has been helpful for auto-immune conditions such as Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis.
4) Enhance brain development in infants
The omega 3s in flaxseeds have been shown to significantly improve brain and retina development in unborn infants and the infants of lactating mothers. This research recently allowed for the makers of infant formula to include this essential fat.
5) Loaded with healthy Omega 3 fat
Aside from fatty fish, flaxseeds are one of the only foods containing large amounts of the incredibly beneficial Omega 3 fat, which nourishes your brain and gives your skin and hair a healthy glow. A 1/2 cup of grounded seeds will give you up to 50 grams of Omega 3, which is a good daily dose.
6) Help you burn body fat
Our cells are loaded with unhealthy fats from fries and junk food, which slow down our metabolism and contribute to obesity. Adding in healthy Omega 3 fats and fiber gets your metabolism burning at a higher rate. In addition, flaxseeds are high in fiber and protein which help you feel fuller faster.
7) Eliminate constipation
Since flaxseeds are 30% fiber and 40% healthy fat, a cup of seeds daily provides 27 grams of fiber and 50 grams Omega 3s which work together to heal the intestines and provide constipation relief. This amount of fiber also meets the US National Cancer Institute recommendations for daily intake.
Improve hypoglycemia and diabetes
The fiber and protein in the seeds help keep blood sugar more stable throughout the day, because fiber slows the release of insulin.
9) Decrease risk of heart disease, coronary artery disease, and strokes
Flaxseeds are documented to decrease tryglicerides, increase good HDL, and decrease platelet reactivity, all of which are critical for keeping your heart and arteries healthy.
10) Decrease inflammation
Inflammation causes migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, lupus, MS, psoriasis, and allergies. The omega 3s in flaxseeds inhibit inflammation by lowering inflammatory cytokines.

Beans. Legumes. Pulses. Whatever you call this plant group, they are all edible seeds in a pod. The majority of them are packed with complete plant protein and contain almost no fat. They are also a good source of healthy complex carbs.
Beans helped me turn the corner with my illness, the worst part of which was actually when I was on the mend - though it certainly didn’t feel like I was mending at the time.
I was following Robert Young’s program. Since I had an urgent need, I skipped the Transition period and went straight to Step 2 - the Cleanse - which should only last a week and should be supervised. In my wisdom (ahem), I decided this wasn’t really necessary and got on with it on my own, but when the end of the week came I was having such a strong ‘healing crisis’ that I was unable to move on to the next part of the program. I was eating a quarter of a tomato a day and stuggling to keep that down. The smell of cucumber turned my stomach. I was eating nothing when I should have been eating dark green veg, sprouts, seeds, grains, nuts and EFAs. But it all made me feel sick - I was desperately weak. I pulled out all my health related books looking for an answer and then I read the following paragraph from Gillian McKeith’s You Are What You Eat:
“If you don’t eat enough good carbohydrates, you will feel ill. All my patients who stopped eating carbohydrates became weak, constipated, gaunt, irritable and depressed. It’s like playing Russian Roulette with your body. I agree that it’s a good idea to cut out the bad refined carbohydrates such as cakes, cookies, biscuits and sweets. But the message here needs to be very clear: complex carbohydrates, such as beans, are essential for good health! Eat them regularly.”
Other than constipation, I had all the other symptoms. I had lost over a stone in 2 weeks. I knew I had to eat. I could only stand for a couple of minutes at a time, but that was long enough to put a pan of brown rice on the hob, with some cream of coconut, some herbs and a can of kidney beans. Within 30 mins of eating a portion of Jamaican ‘Rice n Peas’, the nausea had gone, the headache was lifting and I felt nourished and in an altogether better mood. That batch lasted me a couple of days and gave me the strength I needed to start fixing myself more balanced meals.
I continue to eat beans on a regular basis and I promise you that if the rest of your diet is healthy, bottom burps are not an issue!!
Beans can lower cholesterol, prevent heart disease and are great for weight loss. I am eating more now than ever before and yet the excess weight is still coming off - but in a much more gradual and therefore safe and healthy way. Aduki beans are reportedly the best of weight loss. The Japanese use them to treat kidney and bladder infections. They contain very high levels of fibre, vitamin B Complex, iron, manganese and zinc. Their diuretic properties relieve the body of excess fluids and rid it of undesirable toxins and mucus. They burn fat and help balance metabolism.
And so to Haricot beans. There’s a lot of talk around at the moment about the Glycemic Index or GI of foods. The GI is a measurement of the quality of carbohydrate in a particular food. It represents how quickly 50g of a given carb will raise blood glucose levels as it’s digested. The slower the better basically and the carbs in Haricot Beans have a GI of 38, rated low. So besides being great for metabolism and regulation of your blood sugar levels, they also support kidney-adrenal function, provide an excellent source of protein and fibre and contain those vital B vitamins - great for your nervous system and more help with weight management.
Haricot beans are the beans you find in a can of Heinz Baked Beans. You’ll also find a load of sugar, salt and modified cornflour. But there is no reason why you should stop eating Beans on Toast and once you’ve tried my recipe, there’ll be no going back, I’m sure. You’ll find the recipe on my blog at http://claireraikes.blogs.com/claires_blog/2005/07/healthy_beans_o.html

You wouldn’t judge a book by its cover, would you?
You would want to open the book and read part of it to get a better idea about what is going on, right?
Well, judging a book by its cover is what happens when you look at LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and decide that this is the only - or even the best indicator of heart disease.
Worse yet, you are told you MUST lower your LDL cholesterol level.
#1 Naturally produced by the body, cholesterol is needed for a variety of functions.-1
Your body uses cholesterol to make testosterone and other essential hormones and is one of the best health and youth enhancing strategies for aging men and women. -2
As you age your body naturally starts to lose its ability to produce as much testosterone and you start to lose energy, strength, sexual desire and sexual capacity.-2
#2 Because the fact is cholesterol alone is not THE indicator of heart disease. Cholesterol which has been oxidized is the problem. Oxidation of cholesterol is the more specific problem which would enable the cholesterol to become “sticky” and start to form plaque in the walls of the arteries.-3
We have all seen an apple cut open and watch as it turns brown - this is oxidation. Your body will oxidize on the inside unless steps are taken to help prevent this.
One can keep oxidation of cholesterol in check by incorporating plenty of anti-oxidants in your consumption of food and supplements.-1, 3
A few of the most powerful anti-oxidants are:
Low cost, safe and proven food sources high in omega 3’s and the right fats to help keep your cholesterol levels in balance-1, 3
These are better, safe, proven and natural ways to prevent cholesterol from becoming a problem.
A diet heavy in grains and processed foods will actually raise your blood cholesterol levels more than foods which contain cholesterol.
A diet low in cholesterol will do you little if anything health wise -4
Focusing on raising your HDL cholesterol levels because as you raise your good cholesterol it decreases the concern about your LDL levels of cholesterol and gives you a better total cholesterol profile. -5
Some of the best ways to improve your “Good” or HDL cholesterol is through:
There is a big difference between the cholesterol your Body produces and dietary cholesterol from the food you eat.
#3 Two factors which are of greater concern and are better indicators of heart disease are -3
1. A measure of inflammation in the blood stream called C-reactive protein
2. An amino acid produced by the body called homocysteine.
High levels of C-reactive protein and high levels of homocysteine are better leading indicators and also contribute to the formation of plaque in the blood vessels leading to heart disease -3
As reported in the July, 2003 issue of JAMA, a study was conducted which showed that a diet high in plant sterols, fiber and almonds was clearly the better way to reduce cholesterol and heart disease over statin drugs.-8
And finally …
Policosanol - An organic plant alcohol from sugar cane is one of the best natural ways to reduce bad cholesterol levels-7
Naturally, as you realize the power of these proven ways to prevent cholesterol from becoming a problem, you will find yourself taking action.

Nutritional deficiency is a serious concern for people who have undergone gastric bypass or lap-band weight loss surgery. Most patients are instructed to supplement their low-calorie diet with vitamin and mineral supplements. In addition, patients can make informed food choices to boost their nurtrient intake while respecting the restrictions of weight loss surgery.
Two foods patients should include in their diet are bananas and walnuts. Here’s why:
Bananas are rich in potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining heart function and blood pressure.
Bananas help activate the stomach lining cells protecting against ulcers and acting as an antacid.
Bananas are effective in normalizing movement through the digestive tract and ease constipation.
Bananas contain a compound that nourishes the friendly bacteria in the colon and helps the body absorb calcium
Bananas are available year round at low cost.
Nutrition per 1 medium banana:
Calories: 108
Protein: 1.3 grams
Carbohydrates: 27 grams
Natural Sugar: 14.4 grams
Fiber 3.1 grams
Daily Values:
Vitamin B: 35%
Vitamin C: 18%
Potassium: 13%
Walnuts contain omega-3 essential fatty acids, a special type of protective fat the body cannot manufacture.
The omega-3 fats can improve cardiovascular health, promote better cognitive function and work as anti-inflammatory agents against asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema and psoriasis.
Walnuts contain an antioxidant compound called ellagic acid which supports the immune system and has several anticancer properties.

Cholesterol is an essential building block of every cell in the body, required for all metabolic processes. It is particularly important in the production of nerve tissue, bile and certain hormones. On average, our body produces about half of a gram to one gram of cholesterol per day, depending on how much of it the body needs at the time. By and large, our body is able to produce 400 times more cholesterol per day than what we would obtain from eating 3,5 ounces (100 grams) of butter. The main cholesterol producers are the liver and the small intestine, in that order. Normally, they are able to release cholesterol directly into the blood stream, where it is instantly tied to blood proteins. These proteins, which are called lipoproteins, are in charge of transporting the cholesterol to its numerous destinations. There are three main types of lipoproteins in charge of transporting cholesterol: Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), Very Low Density Lipoprotein (VLDL), and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL).
In comparison to HDL, which has been privileged with the name ‘good’ cholesterol, LDL and VLDL are relatively large cholesterol molecules; in fact, they are the richest in cholesterol. There is good reason for their large size. Unlike their smaller cousin, which easily passes through blood vessel walls, the LDL and VLDL versions of cholesterol are meant to take a different pathway; they leave the blood stream in the liver.
The blood vessels supplying the liver have a very different structure from the ones supplying other parts of the body. They are known as sinusoids. Their unique, grid-like structure permits the liver cells to receive the entire blood content, including the large cholesterol molecules. The liver cells rebuild the cholesterol and excrete it along with bile into the intestines. Once the cholesterol enters the intestines, it combines with fats, is absorbed by the lymph and enters the blood, in that order. Gallstones in the bile ducts of the liver inhibit the bile flow and partially, or even fully, block the cholesterol’s escape route. Due to back-up pressure on the liver cells, bile production drops. Typically, a healthy liver produces over a quart of bile per day. When the major bile ducts are blocked, barely a cup of bile, or even less, will find its way to the intestines. This prevents much of the VLDL and LDL cholesterol from being excreted with the bile.
Gallstones in the liver bile ducts distort the structural framework of the liver lobules, which damages and congests the sinusoids. Deposits of excessive protein also close the grid holes of these blood vessels (see the discussion of this subject in the previous section). Whereas the ‘good’ cholesterol HDL has small enough molecules to leave the bloodstream through ordinary capillaries, the larger LDL and VLDL molecules are more or less trapped in the blood. The result is that LDL and VLDL concentrations begin to rise in the blood to levels that seem potentially harmful to the body. Yet even this scenario is merely part of the body’s survival attempts. It needs the extra cholesterol to patch up the increasing number of cracks and wounds that are formed as a result of the accumulation of excessive protein in the blood vessel walls. Eventually, though, the life-saving cholesterol begins to occlude the blood vessels and cut off the oxygen supply to the heart.
In addition to this complication, reduced bile flow impairs the digestion of food, particularly fats. Therefore, there is not enough cholesterol made available to the cells of the body and their basic metabolic processes. Since the liver cells no longer receive sufficient amounts of LDL and VLDL molecules, they (the liver cells) assume that the blood is deficient in these types of cholesterol. This stimulates the liver cells to increase the production of cholesterol, further raising the levels of LDL and VLDL cholesterol in the blood.
The ‘bad’ cholesterol is trapped in the circulatory system because its escape routes, the bile ducts and the liver sinusoids, are blocked or damaged. The capillary network and arteries attach as much of the ‘bad’ cholesterol to their walls as they possibly can. Consequently, the arteries become rigid and hard.
Coronary heart disease, regardless of whether it is caused by smoking, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, overeating protein foods, stress, or any other factor, usually does not occur unless gallstones have impacted the bile ducts of the liver. Removing gallstones from the liver and gallbladder can not only prevent a heart attack or stroke, but also reverse coronary heart disease and heart muscle damage. The body’s response to stressful situations becomes less damaging, and cholesterol levels begin to normalize as the distorted and damaged liver lobules are regenerated. Cholesterol-lowering drugs don’t do that. They artificially reduce blood cholesterol, which coerces the liver to produce even more cholesterol. But when extra cholesterol is passed into the bile ducts, it remains in its crystalline state (versus soluble state) and, thereby, turns into gallstones. People who regularly use cholesterol-lowering drugs usually develop an excessively large number of gallstones. This sets them up for major side effects, including cancer and heart disease.
Cholesterol is essential for normal functioning of the immune system, particularly for the body’s response to the millions of cancer cells that every person makes in his body each day. For all the health problems associated with cholesterol, this important substance is not something we should try to eliminate from our bodies. Cholesterol does far more good than harm. The harm is generally symptomatic of other problems. I wish to emphasize, once again, that ‘bad’ cholesterol only attaches itself to the walls of arteries to avert immediate heart trouble, not to create it.
This is confirmed by the fact that cholesterol never attaches itself to the walls of veins. When a doctor tests your cholesterol levels, he takes the blood sample from a vein, not from an artery. Although blood flow is much slower in veins than in arteries, cholesterol should obstruct veins much more readily than arteries, but it never does. There simply is no need for that. Why? Because there are no abrasions and tears in the lining of the vein that require patching up. Cholesterol only affixes itself to arteries in order to coat and cover up the abrasions and protect the underlying tissue like a waterproof bandage. Veins do not absorb proteins in their basements membranes like capillaries and arteries do and, therefore, are not prone to this type of injury.
‘Bad’ cholesterol saves lives; it does not take lives. LDL allows the blood to flow through injured blood vessels without causing a life-endangering situation. The theory of high LDL being a principal cause of coronary heart disease is not only unproved and unscientific. It has misled the population to believe that cholesterol is an enemy that has to be fought and destroyed at all costs. Human studies have not shown a cause-and-effect relationship between cholesterol and heart disease. The hundreds of studies so far conducted on such a relationship have only shown that there is a statistical correlation between the two. And there should be, because if there were no ‘bad’ cholesterol molecules attaching themselves to injured arteries we would have millions of more deaths from heart attack than we already have. On the other hand, dozens of conclusive studies have shown that risk of heart disease increases significantly in people whose HDL levels decrease. Elevated LDL cholesterol is not a cause of heart disease; rather, it is a consequence of an unbalanced liver and congested, dehydrated circulatory system.
If your doctor has told you that lowering your cholesterol with medical drugs protects you against heart attacks, you have been grossly misled. The #1 prescribed cholesterol-lowering medicine is Lipitor. I suggest that you read the following warning statement, issued on the official Lipitor web site:
“LIPITOR (atorvastatin calcium) tablets is a prescription drug used with diet to lower cholesterol. LIPITOR is not for everyone, including those with liver disease or possible liver problems, and women who are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant. LIPITOR has not been shown to prevent heart disease or heart attacks.
“If you take LIPITOR, tell your doctor about any unusual muscle pain or weakness. This could be a sign of serious side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about any medications you are currently taking to avoid possible serious drug interactions…”
My question is, “Why risk a person’s health or life by giving him/her a drug that has no effect, whatsoever, in preventing the problem for which it is being prescribed?” The reason why the lowering of cholesterol levels cannot prevent heart disease is because cholesterol does not cause heart disease.
The most important issue is how efficiently a person’s body uses cholesterol and other fats. The body’s ability to digest, process and utilize these fats depends on how clear and unobstructed the bile ducts of the liver are. When bile flow is unrestricted and balanced, both the LDL and HDL levels are balanced as well. Therefore, keeping the bile ducts open is the best prevention of coronary heart disease.
