Naveen Jain, the founder and current chief executive officer of Intelius, is one of those many Indian entrepreneurs who were able to amass great fortune away from their native homes.

Driven by his determination to succeed, Naveen Jain was able to reach the higher levels of success. Starting off, Naveen Jain had strived to attain the best possible education he could get. He was able to attain his BS degree in engineering from the IIT or the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, India. Many affluent Indian entrepreneurs in the Seattle area were also graduates from IIT. There are also many IIT alumni scattered all over the globe now working as successful business owners or technical consultants.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Naveen Jain pursued his studies at the XLRI in Jamshedpur, where he received his MBA. Eventually, Naveen Jain decided to migrate to the United States in order to study the country’s emerging technology market through a business exchange program.

Eventually, Naveen Jain was hired at the Burroughs Corporation in New Jersey. After a year, he found himself moving to Washington in order to look for better work opportunities. In 1989, he was able to work for one of the most well known personalities in the entire IT world, Bill Gates. Naveen Jain then worked for the company for seven years. Starting off as a group manager, Naveen Jain was able to climb up the corporate ladder and become a senior executive of the company.

In 1996, Naveen Jain decided to leave his post at the Microsoft Corporation in order to start his own tech venture. For the following years, the India-born IT entrepreneur established two companies, InfoSpace and Intelius. His second company, Intellius, is currently a leader in the IT industry.
