If you are supposed to simplify a fraction, it can be done easily by finding a common factor in the numerator and denominator. A common factor is going to be a number that will equally divide into both numbers. As an example 3 is a common factor for 6 and 12. Three will evenly divide into 6 and into 12. You could also look at 2 being a common factor for 4 and 14. The same division procedure needs to be repeatedly run until there are no common factors left. You can also do this same procedure by finding the GCF of both the numerator and the denominator. You will divide the numerator and the denominator by the greatest common factor instead of the common factor.

I e-mailed Mykill, the drummer of Slayer tribute band Dead Skin Mask. I’m not sure what he prefers to be called. His name is Mike Aresco (Michael, hence spelling as Mykill). He is an interesting character, to say the least. After seeing them for them twice, this time with a 60% new line up, I wanted to see what they are doing and what news of their CD release is available. This is what Mykill said:

Javier:
That is some set you play.

Mykill:
Well, no, not really. It is necessary for this music. Slayer does not use a small rinky-dink drum set, nor do I. You see, Slayers albums, all have use of a big set. The only album you could get away with some small, crappy 5-piece set is, maybe, SHOW NO MERCY. From HAUNTING THE CHAPEL to GHUA, there is NO WAY. So, any Slayer tribute that has any less than 11 pieces of drums on that stage, had better stick to songs off SHOW NO MERCY, less AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR.

Javier:
Tama and Paiste. That helps bring Slayer’s music to life?

Mykill:
Well, yeah! The TAMA (drums) part of the music is the least detectable. It is real hard to listen to a cd and tell what brands of drums are used. There are too many variables, like, what heads are on the drums, mic placement, or what effects and equalization are in the mix. TAMA are very strong, look great, and stay adjusted. I have NOT screwed with my MTH 100 tom holders, since I bought them in ‘91! The MTH 900 is the same way. The PAISTE (cymbals) part, there is a huge difference between the sound of PAISTE and the other brands. PAISTE is the best sounding cymbal you can get. If you ask me… there is no other choice. Even if Slayer did not use them, I would. They sound like no other and they are gorgeous to look at. I’d rather buy these brands, forever, rather than ever get others for free, actually. Fortunately Paul (Bostaph), and Dave (Lombardo) are smart AND have good taste!

Javier:
Have you seen or heard any other SLAYER tributes?

Mykill:
Yeah.

Javier:
Is Dead Skin Mask your first and only project?

Mykill:
Yes and no. We (Dead Skin Mask) are about to start on our own songs. DSM is, at least for now, the only one. I have another one I’m currently assembling called Self Bias Resistor. Obviously, it is a FEAR FACTORY tribute. Vocals are what I’ll do in that one. As for my first, no. I wasted allot of time in another useless endeavor. But something good came out of that last nightmare, I found Romeo (DSM vocals) towards the latter part of it. With out him, this (DSM) would probably not have done one show, yet. Funny how sometimes good can come from a very bad situation.

Javier:
Do you stay in touch with past band-mates?

Mykill:
… About a year ago I talked with Bryan, back in Connecticut, from Lost Soul…

Javier:
Aside from Bostaph and Lombardo, who made you want to pick up a pair of sticks?

Mykill:
Wow, there are allot. Probably the first drummer I noticed, as a young kid, was Ron Bushy from Iron Butterfly. Around that same time I discovered Ringo Starr. Years later, when I was 12, Alex Van Halen found my ear. I used to see Buddy Rich on The Tonight Show when I would be awake late. He amazed me! He still does. Also Stewart Copeland was very interesting to me. These were the drummers that forged my desire to become one myself. Once I heard Slayer, well, I found an unheard of speed that captivated me. There are so many more. Even today, I still find new drummers that awe me.

Javier:
The last one, tell me about this cd.

Mykill:
Sure, 4 maybe 5 songs, out in 2005, clips will be on the site, also in 2005, (http://www.deadskinmask.com) before it (cd) is released.

Have you watched the latest Hitler movie, “The Downfall?” It’s a german film (german title is “Der Untergang”) about the final hours of Adolf Hitler in the bunker as recounted by the Fuhrer’s secretary. I’d say this film is a masterpiece. The best Hitler movie I’ve seen.

Some critics, however, say that the film humanizes Hitler too much. In the film, he is harsh to his generals, but very benevolent towards other people like his secretary, his friends, etc. It is a psychological attempt at presenting the human side of Hitler. History generally paints his image as a monster.

Well, personally, I still think that Hitler was a monster. He may be very kind to his secretary, or his cook, but murdering millions of people makes him more than a monster. In fact, after watching the film, all I could say is that Hitler was crazy. And the people around him (or should I say, sucking up to him) were all crazy.

What makes the film so interesting is that the events are historically accurate. Many scenes in the film would haunt you, specially that of Mrs. Goebbels, a Hitler fanatic, calmly killing all her young children. The scenes with Eva Braun, Hitler’s girlfriend, are also quite memorable. The movie also shows why Hitler’s body wasn’t found up to this day.

I seldom watch war movies these days. I’m just so tired of watching another war movie. But the great thing with The Downfall is that it’s not about the war. It’s about the Man we all know in history as Adolf Hitler.

MLK Assassination Song THEY SLEW THE DREAMER by Gary Revel Free Download

Gary Revel has made, THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, his controversial song about the conspiracy of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. available for free download now.

THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, the song written and recorded by Gary Revel in 1977 while he was investigating the King murder sparked controversy and almost slipped into oblivion. Words and Music by Gary and now deceased attorney Mary Noel, the song published by Sony/ATV Music is in release by Jongleur Music. The lyrically cryptic yet honest portrayal of King’s murder is available on the internet now.

The first recording of the song was released in 1977 on the Rebel Records Label in Nashville Tennessee and then in 1979 on Gary’s own Star City Records Inc.’s label as a cut on his Revel album. Produced by John Erdelyan and recorded at Acuff-Rose recording studios the record received a libelous and slanderous front page story immediately after it’s first release that killed any possibility of commercial success for what was seen by some as a potentially dangerous anti-government anthem. Gary’s powerful yet true story has been maligned by editors in all mainsteam news organizations all these years in obvious hopes that if demeaned and or ignored long enough it would just go away. The story itself is evidence of the facts that demonstrate how criminal influence by organized crime and government has worked together with these major news organizations to continue the cover-up of the conspiracy of the assassination that killed Martin Luther King Jr.

Now with continuing talk of making Gary’s story of his investigation of the assassination of MLK into a movie the internet has provided the venue for new life to the recording. The lyrics reference MLK: standing on the balcony, asking for the song TAKE MY HAND PRECIOUS LORD to be played later and James Earl Ray’s contact (Raoul). The lyrics to the chorus are:
