Over the ages, the act of revenge has gone from a sacred way of life to an act of which to be ashamed and avoid. I disagree. A little clean, honest, LEGAL revenge can be just the thing to help you forgive and forget at least some of the indiscretions whether imagined or real that have been committed against you. Revenge gives you a terrific alternative to pouting, grouching, gossiping, and being spite-filled for years to come. A little reprisal can go a long way to cleansing the sprite and renewing the soul. Here are just a few tactics assured to enrage your foe with little effort on your part and a very minimal chance of your actions being proved as deliberate affronts. Introduce her new husband by the ex-husband’s first name. When approached with a last minute project, ask lots of questions . . . spaced out . . . over the period of the project . . . one at a time . . . ensuring the offending party . . . no solid block of concentration . . . for the duration of the time . . . you are inconvenience by their bad timing. Forget to put a fabric softener/anti-static sheet in the dryer with your wife’s undergarments. She will think if you with every electrifying step, with every tug at her slip and skirt, and with ever static filled shock. Rearrange the person’s desk, kitchen, files, closet, or medicine cabinet. Heck, go crazy! Do all of the above. Never spell his name correctly. Invite her to dinner and when she shows up, swear the mistake was hers and the dinner party was the night before. It is perfectly acceptable to then serve week old leftovers to the poor embarrassed soul. Tape the WWF over her sister’s wedding. Ya know all those magic little boxes that pop up on certain websites asking you to refer a friend. Refer a friend. Often. Preferably giving their work email address and phone number. Fix your 22-year-old friend up with your 46 year old college chum who still lives with her mother, talks to her cat, and spends more time and money on the Psychic Hotline than she does on hygiene. Call during the final episode of Survivor just to chat about old times. Answer all phone messages left after 10PM at 5 AM bright and early the following morning. This is most effective on the weekend. Eat a medium rare burger in front of a devote vegetarian. Ask him to have a vasectomy. Wear your high school cheerleading outfit to your teenager’s homecoming game. Tell her she reminds you of your mother. Tell your sister’s children about all the little no-no’s she committed at their age. Follow up with diagrams. Buy your grandchildren a drum set. Talk during the movie. Order an expensive meal and don’t eat it. Tell her you need to talk to her about something important, but it will have to wait until later. Put off the conversation as long as possible and then be as vague as possible.

With the myriad of entertainment options available today, it’s virtually impossible to say that you can’t find anything to capture your attention. And the entertainment options available right in the comfort of your own home are at an all time high. From video games to music to movies, most people have their favorite pastimes and are willing to do what it takes to enjoy those - within reason.

So you have an awesome magic trick you want to perform on
somebody. You’ve practiced it thousands of times, perfected it
in front of the mirror and now are ready to take your act to the
streets…ok maybe not the streets but to one of your friends or
family members. But wait….what are you going to wear??? You
say “What?, who cares what I am wearing?”. Let me tell you
something, image and presentation is everything, it is like

your magic trick bit. You may think, I can wear anything to do

check out, even though the uglier car may have the same sport

you see what I mean.

reactions, but if you stepped up your dress code a bit, believe
me, you will leave even a more lasting impression to your
audience. Think about it for a minute….think of all the great

Burton, and the list goes on way beyond the people I mention
here, you have an image in your head when I mention these people
to you, right??? David Blaine, he wears nothing to fancy but he
is usually in a nice black collared shirt and black pants, that
gives him that mysterious look….David Copperfield, always
dressed up to the T for his shows. Now I am not saying go out
and wear a tux or your best suede suit to perform, but be aware
of what your are wearing, it can be the difference from a good
performance to a great performance.

After a hard day at the office I like to come home and have a home cooked meal that tastes good. While eating that meal I love to talk to the family about their day and ask everyone if I can help them in any way. After dinner I help the kids with their homework or anything else they might need. They go to bed and my wife and I tuck them in. After they are all tucked in and asleep, my wife and I head for the couch to watch some television and cuddle. This usually does not happen until about eight p.m., just in time for the show “Heros”. We take a blanket and cover ourselves with big fat pillows behind our heads. A bag of popcorn and a diet soda always make it the perfect night. Once the show is over we watch some news, and this makes me very tired. There is something about the voice of a newscaster that puts me to sleep. Some people have to use something to help them fall asleep; maybe they should try watching the news. It is like clockwork for me, and I like it like that because I know how important it is to sleep. Sometimes my wife just leaves me there, but most of the time she will wake me up for a bit and we will go up to the bedroom to finish out the night. I have to say, my life is great.

In Meacham Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory was planning to lay off a number of employees. It has the burden to prove that its decision was based on a reasonable factor other than age. For example it would not be illegal to consider criteria for a particular role in a movie that has a disparate impact on age if the part calls for someone of a particular age. In reaching its conclusion that the employer has the burden to prove the reasonable factors other than age defense the Supreme Court looked at another provision of the ADEA the bona fide occupational qualification defense. Knolls totaled those scores and gave the employees additional points based on their years of service. The company had its supervisors rate their subordinates based on their performance flexibility and critical skills. It then used those totals to decide who to lay off. The Supreme Court ruled that if an employer seeks to rely on that defense. At the trial a jury found Knolls had violated the ADEA because its layoff procedure had a disparate impact based on age. In that case Meacham versus Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory the Supreme Court interpreted a provision of the ADEA that permits an employer to take an adverse employment action against an employee. Specifically the jury found that although the plaintiffs did not prove that Knolls intentionally discriminated against them they did prove that Knolls method of deciding who to lay off disproportionately harmed older workers. The BFOQ defense states that it is not unlawful for an employer to take adverse employment actions otherwise prohibited by the ADEA where age is a bona fide occupational qualification reasonably necessary to the normal operation of the particular business. In other words the ADEA permits employers to discriminate based on age considering age is legitimately necessary under the circumstances. The Supreme Court has previously recognized that the employer has the burden to establish the BFOQ affirmative defense. The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit initially affirmed the jurys findings but after the United States Supreme Court asked it to reconsider the Second Circuit reversed itself and ruled in favor of Knolls. Even if the employment action is otherwise prohibited by the ADEA. Twenty-eight of those 62 employees sued under the ADEA claiming Knolls illegally fired them because of their age. A lawyer from Noordoostpolder won from a in Downers Grove Illinois The Supreme Court then agreed to hear the case and eventually reversed the Second Circuit and reinstated the jurys finding that Knolls policy unlawfully discriminated because of age. As long as the adverse action is based on reasonable factors other than age. Thirty of the 34 salaried employees the company laid off were at least 70 years old.

THE ROUNDNESS OF THE EARTH
He has created the Heavens and the Earth for Truth. He wraps the night up in the day, and wraps the day up in the night. (The Qur’an, 39:5)

In the Qur’an, the words used for describing the universe are quite remarkable. The Arabic word that is translated as “to wrap” in the above verse is “takwir”. In English, it means “to make one thing lap over another, folded up as a garment that is laid away”. (For instance, in Arabic dictionaries this word is used for the action of wrapping one thing around another, in the way that a turban is put on.)
The information given in the verse about the day and the night wrapping each other up includes accurate information about the shape of the world. This can be true only if the earth is round. This means that in the Qur’an, which was revealed in the 7th century, the roundness of the world was hinted at.
It should be remembered, however, that the understanding of astronomy of the time perceived the world differently. It was then thought that the world was a flat plane and all scientific calculations and explanations were based on this belief. The verses of the Qur’an, however, include information that we have learned only in the past century. Since the Qur’an is God’s word, the most correct words were used in it when it comes to describing the universe.

THE PROTECTED ROOF
In the Qur’an, God calls our attention to a very interesting attribute of the sky:
We made the sky a preserved and protected roof yet still they turn away from Our Signs.. (The Qur’an, 21:32)
This attribute of the sky has been proved by scientific research carried out in the 20th century.
The atmosphere surrounding the earth serves crucial functions for the continuity of life. While destroying many meteors big and small as they approach the earth, it prevents them from falling to earth and harming living things.
In addition, the atmosphere filters the light rays coming from space that are harmful to living things. Interestingly, the atmosphere lets only harmless and useful rays- visible light, near ultraviolet light, and radio waves pass through. All of this radiation is vital for life. Near ultraviolet rays, which are only partially let in by the atmosphere, are very important for the photosynthesis of plants and for the survival of all living beings. The majority of the intense ultraviolet rays emitted from the sun are filtered out by the ozone layer of the atmosphere and only a limited-and essential-part of the ultraviolet spectrum reaches the Earth.
The protective function of the atmosphere does not end here. The atmosphere also protects the earth from the freezing cold of the space, which is about minus 270oC.
It is not only the atmosphere that protects the Earth from harmful effects. In addition to the atmosphere, the Van Allen Belt, a layer caused by the magnetic field of the Earth, also serves as a shield against the harmful radiation that threatens our planet. This radiation, which is constantly emitted by the Sun and other stars, is deadly to living things. If the Van Allen belt did not exist, the massive outbursts of energy called solar flares that frequently occur in the Sun would destroy all life on Earth.
Dr. Hugh Ross has this to say on the importance of Van Allen Belts to our lives:

In fact, the Earth has the highest density of any of the planets in our Solar System. This large nickel-iron core is responsible for our large magnetic field. This magnetic field produces the Van-Allen radiation shield, which protects the Earth from radiation bombardment. If this shield were not present, life would not be possible on the Earth. The only other rocky planet to have any magnetic field is Mercury - but its field strength is 100 times less than the Earth’s. Even Venus, our sister planet, has no magnetic field. The Van-Allen radiation shield is a design unique to the Earth.1

The energy transmitted in just one of these bursts detected in recent years was calculated to be equivalent to 100 billion atomic bombs similar to the one dropped on Hiroshima. Fifty-eight hours after the burst, it was observed that the magnetic needles of compasses displayed unusual movement and 250 kilometers above the earth’s atmosphere, the temperature suddenly increased to 2,500o C.
In short, a perfect system is at work high above the Earth. It surrounds our world and protects it against external threats. Scientists only learned about it recently, yet centuries ago, God informed us in the Qur’an of the world’s atmosphere functioning as a protective shield
